MadCap Feedback Server
In their continuing drive to totally dominate the technical communication world, MadCap Software have announced yet another new product - the MadCap Feedback Server.
Microsoft have used the technique of gathering user data to great effect in the redesign of Microsoft Office. Now technical writers can gather information about their users that will help them to improve the quality of their help projects.
This is a brand new product, just announced at the WritersUA conference. The quote is from an email from MadCap. I don't see anything up on their website yet about it.
Update: Here's the link.
> With this new pending product release, you will have the ability to run
end-user feedback reports and see how your readers are using your Web-based Help and for the first time, desktop Help such as HTML Help and DotNet Help. What are they looking for? Are they searching for things that are not in the Help? Where in the application are they getting stuck? Now you can get feedback on how your audience uses your Help content, allowing you to maximize the effectiveness of your documentation.
